Jenifer's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy plywood and a tin of paint for her box making business.

Jenifer's story

Jenifer is a 45-year-old mother of three children who are ages 13, 9, and 9 months. She is married to a helpful and supportive man. Jenifer and her family live in a small shanty apartment that is located about 10 minutes away from the city of Port Vila, Vanuatu. Her community is very small and the main industry centers around food. Being located near local businesses provides adequate conditions for generating a little income.

Jenifer is requesting a loan to buy plywood and a tin of paint to store at her home so that she can meet the demands of her customers. Her husband helps with their box making business that they have been operating for the past two years. They also have a small retail shop that is located on her home island of Emau, which is an offshore island off the northern coast of Efate Island. Jenifer also sells kava juice and blocks of ice to generate some extra household income. With her earned profits, she will save up toward the purchase of a piece of land where her family can start building a home of their own.

SPBD Vanuatu has been helping Jenifer for more than three years. This will be her fourth loan. She successfully repaid her previous loans on time. With her loans, Jenifer feels empowered to expand her business so that she can improve her family’s living conditions.
