Jemima Veronique's story

Jemima Veronique is a young youth of 21 years who lives with her parents in a village which is located about 15 minutes out of Port Vila, the capital city of Vanuatu. Her community is very large, and the main industry is tourism. Ever since Covid-19 hit Vanuatu, it has been a struggle for one to earn a little income. Therefore locals have turned to agriculture as means of food and income.

Jemima Veronique has requested a loan to help her purchase a carton of chicken wings and a carton of sausages to stock up her deep freezer so she can better provide for her customers while also increasing her profits. She wants to increase her stock as the demand for these products is very high. With the profits she earns, she will save up so she can start her own retail shop.

Jemima Veronique has now been in her business for over 2 years, and she has her mother as her helping hand. SPBD - Vanuatu has aided her for 2 years now, and this is her third loan. Her loan repayments were paid out successfully on time. Through her loans, Jemima Veronique feels empowered to expand her business and become a successful entrepreneur.
