Germania Lourdes's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy small chickens, corn, make-up, jewelry, etc.

Germania Lourdes's story

Germania Lourdes and her family live in Portoviejo, a city that was very affected by the 16 April 2016 earthquake and now by the Covid-19 pandemic. The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruit for domestic consumption.

Germania Lourdes raises and sells chickens from home, where she keeps them for three months and sells them live. Merchants go to her house to buy from her. And also "tonga" (a portion of rice, a fried ripe plantain split in half, a piece of free-range chicken, all served with a peanut sauce and wrapped in banana leaves) and sales of products from Avon and Yanbal catalogues (beauty products, fragrances, cosmetics, and accessories). She sells door-to-door and also from home; she sells on credit and collects payment weekly.

Everyone in her family got sick with Covid-19 and they've recovered. Social distancing kept her from working in the beginning for fear of contagion and various restrictions against going out to sell, but now she's working with biosafety protocols.

This loan is to buy small chickens, corn, make-up, jewelry, etc.

Her dream is to have a store to continue with her sales and for her family to be very healthy.
