Mevlüde's story

Mevlüde was born in Diyarbakır in 1952. She is married and has five children. Although her living struggle can be seen in her face, she is an exemplary woman who has never given up the struggle for life.

Mevlüde has a happy marriage with her husband. Although they have experienced some difficulties in the past few years, they have never stopped supporting each other. Their children grew up, got married, and Mevlüde wanted to work and feel independent when she was alone at home.

With the advice of neighbors, she got introduced to microcredit in 2014 and, after applying, she started embroidering crafts at home with a microcredit of 1,000 TRY. Then, she increased the number of materials by increasing the limit every year using a microcredit of 2,000 TRY, then 3,000 TRY, and managed to make a room in her house where she could make crafts. The last time she used it, she purchased fabric materials for her dowry with a microcredit of 5,000 TRY.

To date, Mevlüde has used a total of 26,000 TRY in microcredit. She plans to buy a sewing machine with a microcredit of 5,000 TRY that she hopes to receive through Kiva.
