Uzima Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase beverages and salted fish.

Uzima Group's story

Madame Nuru is a client of microfinance institution Hekima and leads the Uzima Group. She is a single 35-year-old mother of 4 children who all attend school.

Nuru sells groceries, a business she started 16 years ago with startup funds received through Hekima, and it has grown progressively since. With this new loan, she will purchase beverages and salted fish, strengthening her working capital. Her business's main challenge is unpaid debts.

Nuru would like for her children to continue their studies and to build a home for her family. Lastly, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they give to owners of non-bankable businesses during the global Covd-19 crisis. Only the group leader is shown in the photo due to social distancing measures.
