Jennys Patricia's story

Jennys Patricia is a 37-year-old micro-entrepreneur. She lives in the city of Barranquilla with her family. She has had a business selling toys and household items for 5 years.

She has started in business when she was very young. She has been in a steady relationship since she was 21 years old and depended economically on her domestic partner. However, more than 15 years ago, when her children got older, she decided not to stay unemployed. Through her husband's connections she was able to start selling household items and cosmetics catalogs. More than 18 years ago she started selling toys, accessories and other items. This business activity is her only source of income and it allows her to contribute to the support of her household.

Because of the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic and the safety issues related to it, her business deteriorated and her income decreased drastically. For this reason she has requested her first Kiva loan with the Santo Domingo foundation in order to invest in the purchase of bicycles, tricycles, skates, aquariums and fans. Support her in this loan for her business.
