Nusulah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more sacks of sugar, salt, and maize flour to sell.

Nusulah's story

Nusulah is 33 years old and lives in the town of Matuga in the Kawempe region of Uganda. She is married and has five children, with four of them currently in school. For the past two years, Nusulah has been working hard to manage her retail shop, which sells essential items like sugar, salt, cooking oil, and soft drinks.

To help expand her business, Nusulah has requested a loan of 1,000,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more sacks of sugar, salt, and maize flour to sell, and it will help Nusulah to generate greater profits so she can invest more in the business and buy food for her family. Nusulah hopes that in the future she will be able to expand her business into a wholesale shop.

Nusulah is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members like Nusulah who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown enough to qualify for microloans.
