Syprose's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase modern farm inputs, such as certified seeds and organic fertilizers, in order to improve the quality of her output.

Syprose's story

The remote town of Kisumu is home to Syprose, a farmer. She is a single woman, aged 43, and has three lovely children. Thanks to her daily efforts, she has managed to give her children a good start by providing them with a quality education.

Syprose herself never had an advanced formal education, but is contented with the farming lifestyle. As the Kisumu area is favorable for farming, she grows crops and keeps livestock. She also earns some income from a personal business.

Syprose has a good credit history and is now seeking a loan to buy farm inputs, such as fertilizer and seeds. This will enable her to grow more crops to reap a maximum in profits. Her goal is to improve her living conditions and secure the future of her children. Her biggest dreams are to be able to support her family by herself, to become independent, and to buy a home.

Being a woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially the Kisumu area, is very challenging, but she is glad that there are institutions, such as Kiva, that help enterprising women like her. This loan will ensure a rich harvest and income for her. She is so grateful to her lenders for understanding and empowering a woman.
