Idalid Del Carmen's story

Idalid Del Carmen is a micro-entrepreneur, who has lived in the city of Cartagena for 5 years. She lives there with her family.

For 10 years, she has sold foods. She started her business because of the need to generate income to take her children forward and to support her husband. She started with a contract with several colleges to provide food. She started becoming well-known in the area until she saw the opportunity to make food for delivery to neighbors and friends in the area. Over time, she has perfected her dishes. This work is her only source of income, and it enables her to support her household.

Because of the global COVID-19 pandemic, though, she business declined due to health and safety concerns, and her income decreased drastically.

Because of this, she is requesting her first Kiva loan from Fundación Santo Domingo to invest in buying rice, meat, chicken, fish, and seafood. Support her with this loan for her business.
