Noong Het 37 Group's story

The woman in black with a bright smile when receiving a loan in the picture is Mrs. Giot. She is 55 years old and belongs to the Thai ethnic group. Currently, she is living with her mother-in-law and son in a small house in the northwestern mountains of Vietnam.

More than a year ago, her family faced many difficulties due to facing a big event when her husband, the main source of income, passed away. Now, she always works hard to earn an income for her family with the support of her son. Every day, she works hard on the farm, growing rice, vegetables, raising fish, buffaloes and chickens.

Although she worked very hard, her income from agricultural production was not stable due to the disease on rice and chicken, making it even more difficult for the family. However, difficulties did not reduce the will of a strong woman like her. She found out that raising buffaloes takes little time to take care of, has the advantage of using the grass around the house as food and brings high profits which is very beneficial.

That prompted her to take out a loan to buy a small buffalo. Profit after selling buffalo is expected to be invested in pig raising and be saved for the family before big events happen.

She wishes her family would soon get out of poverty and her son would have a better life!
