Blanca Rocio's story

Blanca Rocio is 31 years old, married, and has 4 children, ages 12, 7, 4, and 1, of whom 3 are going to school. Her spouse is a merchant. They own their house. They live in Portoviejo, a city affected by the earthquake on April 16, 2016 and now by the COVID-19 pandemic. The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruits for domestic consumption.

Blanca Rocio and her spouse have a store in the market in the city. There, they sell every day from very early in the morning, particularly on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, which is when most people come to purchase.

At first the social distancing left her without work due to the fear of the virus and various restrictions which prevented going out to sell. But, currently she is working, following the biosafety protocols.

This loan is to purchase noodles, sausages, soft drinks, water, dairy products, dog food, tuna, butter, detergents, etc. Her dream is to own a retail space, to continue growing her sales, and for her family to be very healthy.
