Olga Cristina's story

Olga Cristina and her family live in the city of Portoviejo, which was affected by the April 16, 2016 earthquake and now by the COVID-19 pandemic. The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruits for domestic consumption.

Olga Cristina currently sells products from jewelry and shoe catalogs. She sells to neighbors, friends, and family in her area, leaving her products on credit and collecting payment weekly. Her children help her with internet and WhatsApp sales and also make home deliveries. She used to sell Nature's Garden products.

She was not able to conduct sales at the start of the pandemic due to the social isolation, the fear of getting sick, and various restrictions on travel. However, she is now adhering to biosafety protocols.

She will use the loan to buy orders of shoes, sandals, sport shoes, costume jewelry, etc. Her dream is to have her own store in which to continue her business and for her family to be healthy.
