Lisy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for boxes of Ice cream and cones to sell and increase her income.

Lisy's story

Lisy lives in a rural district which is about 10 minutes drive to Port Vila's International airport. Her community is small, and the main industries are agriculture and fishing. These two industries are what Ni-Vanuatu relies a lot on for food and income. So for one to make an earning off of it has been quite satisfying.

Lisy is a 47 year old mother of four. She is married to a local theater actor who is both a loving and supportive husband. Her children are ages 25, 22, 14 and 11. She lives with her family in their own shanty home on leased land.

Lisy has asked for a loan to pay for boxes of ice cream and cones to stock up her home and increase her income. This product is high in demand, particularly by the children, so with her extra stock it will help increase her revenue, which she plans to save up so she can purchase a piece of land for her family.

Lisy has been in her business since 2017 and it is well known by her community. She dreams her business will help her put her family on their own land. SPBD - Vanuatu has supported Lisy for over three years now, and this is her fourth loan. She successfully repaid her previous loans on time. Through her loans, Lisy is motivated to expand her business and improve her family's living conditions.
