Janeth's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to help Janeth hire labor and buy farm inputs to expand her production.

Janeth's story

Wonderful Kiva community, this is Janeth; she is polite, devoted, responsible, and hardworking. She is a mother of four children and a wife to a businessman who is very supportive and loving of her. She grows tea for a living, which she enjoys very much.

Janeth hails from a region where farming skills are passed on from one generation to another. Seeing the opportunity to earn an income, she chose to venture into farming as well. To sustain her family, she offers her produce to specific markets with specific needs, thus increasing her revenue.

The major challenge that farmers from her area face is unaffordable and scarce farming inputs, meaning that their yields are far below what they could be. Janeth has applied for a KES 150,000 loan through Kiva's field partner ECLOF KENYA Limited to buy farming inputs such as certified seeds and high-nutrient fertilizer. Greater profits from an increased yield will change her life and that of her entire household because she will be able to raise their living standards and pay for her children's education.

Janeth has a great desire to succeed and hopes that Kiva lenders will listen to her request and help her better her life. She thanks her lenders for their generous support and dreams of a stable future.
