Irene Rosario's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy shellfish such as fish, shrimps, lobsters, squids, etc.

Irene Rosario's story

Irene Rosario and her family live in San Jacinto, a fishing village. The economy of the place is based on fishing, salt extraction, tourism, commerce, and handicrafts such as atarrayas (throwing nets) and items like seashells and snails in a minor scale.

Irene Rosario used to sell clothing, but she is now selling shellfish that her husband catches. A lot of times she also buys fish to different fishermen that arrive to the beach. She sells from her house and her husband goes out to sell in different areas of the city and the markets.

Her family got sick with COVID-19 but they have recovered. Social isolation kept her from working at the beginning due to fear of contagion and several restrictions that prevented going out to sell, but she is now following the biosafety protocols.

This loan will be used to buy shellfish such as fish, shrimps, lobsters, squids, etc. Her dream is to have a shop of her own and see her family healthy.
