Anita María's story

Anita Maria and her family live in San Jacinto, which is a village of fishermen. Its economy is based on fishing, salt extraction, tourism, commerce, and crafts such as fishing nets, and, on a small scale, items made from various shells.

Anita Maria rents a retail space where she has a café and where, every day, she makes and sells coffee, corn tortillas, yuca tortillas, tigrillos, breakfasts, starchy breads, natural fruit juices, plantain balls, toast, etc.

Her whole family got sick from COVID-19 and are recovered. Before, she had a guesthouse and a restaurant. At first, the social distancing left her without work due to the fear of the virus and various restrictions which prevented going out to sell. But, currently she is working, following the biosafety protocols.

This loan is to purchase cheese, eggs, corn, sausages, bread, milk, coffee, cups, spoons, plates, etc. Her dream is to have her own retail space and for her family to be very healthy.
