Mayra Monserrate's story

Mayra Monserrate and her family live in Portoviejo, a city affected by the April 16, 2016 earthquake and now by the Covid-19 pandemic. The city is rich in production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruit for domestic consumption.

Mayra Monserrate has a small store where she sell provisions for home consumption. She sells all types of products, such as rice, sugar, oil, detergent, legumes, vegetables, and fruit. She works every day.

In her family, everyone got sick with Covid-19 and have recovered. Social isolation at first left her without work due to fear of contagion and various restrictions that kept her from selling. Now she is working with bio-security protocols.

This loan is to buy rice, sugar, soaps, toothpaste, dairy products, etc. Her dream is to have more stock in her store and that her family will have good health.
