Liza's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase modern farm inputs such as certified seeds and organic fertilizers in order to improve the quality of her output.

Liza's story

Liza is a single mother of two, a go-getter from a remote village in the Kapsabet area of Kenya. She has been through many adversities, however, she has always had the strength to overcome them and move forward with her family. She is always working to improve her family’s living conditions, but her biggest dream is to become independent to support her family.

One of the most hardworking women in her village, Liza has a farm where she grows crops.

The Kapsabet area is a favorable one for farming, so she is seeking a 20,000 KES loan through Kiva's field partner, Juhudi Kilimo. She will use it to buy farm supplies such as fertilizer to enable her to grow more crops, reap maximum profits, and increase her business.

Being a woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially around Kapsabet, is very challenging. Liza feels relieved knowing there are institutions such as Kiva and wonderful lenders who help hardworking women like her.

Liza is so thankful to lenders in advance.
