Yalele's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for retail goods to stock up her kitchen shop and increase her income.

Yalele's story

Yalele lives in a village which is located on the northern side of Efate Island, Vanuatu. The capital of Vanuatu, Port Vila, is located on Efate's southern side.

Her community is very large, and the main industry is agriculture. Ni-Vanuatu rely a lot on this industry for food and income, so for one to make a living from it is quite good.

Yalele is 30 years of age, is married to a local farmer, and has two children who are 10 and 9 years old. She lives with her family in her parent's house.

Yalele has requested a loan to help her purchase retail goods to stock up her kitchen shop so she can increase her income.

She decided to start her small kitchen shop in order to meet her customers' needs and wants, as her community is located far from the city.

With her earned revenue, Yalele will pay for her children's school fees.

She dreams of having a retail shop to sell her goods in a place where locals and visitors come by.

SPBD - Vanuatu has helped Yalele for over a year now, and this is her second loan. She faithfully repaid her first loan on time. Through her loans, Yalele is motivated to expand her business and provide for her children's education so they can secure well paid jobs in the future.
