Huruma Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to get supplies of corn, soybeans, sorghum, and oil.

Huruma Group's story

Ms. Mariamu is a client of the microfinance institution Hekima and presides over the village group “HURUMA”. She is married, 40 years old, and the mother of thirteen children, all provided with schooling. Her husband is a driver.

A vendor of grocery items, she began this enterprise twenty years ago with startup funding from her husband. Later on, she got involved with the Hekima program for supporting her enterprise and has since been progressing in it.

With this new loan, she is going to stock up with 3 sacks of corn, some soybeans, sorghum, and oil, thus to bolster her capital. The challenge in her work has to do with police harassment.

She would like to feed her family and for her children to continue studying. So, she wishes to say thank you to Hekima and its partners for supporting business owners lacking cash during this global crisis related to COVID-19. The photo shows only the group leader due to COVID-19, so as to respect social distancing measures.
