Katokakala's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase pandanus for her weaving and also help with the finishing touch of their new house.

Katokakala's story

Katokakala is a mother who earns for her family through her weaving talent. She is 59 years old and married with four grown children.

Katokakala weaves different weaving products such as taovala, mats and fihu in different ways, then sells them to earn income for her family. She has been in this business for twenty years, and for those twenty thankful years, her family benefited from her weaving. She has local and overseas customers, and her children even help with advertising her work. Her two eldest have migrated to the States and they help with selling her weaving overseas.

With her business, she is able to build a new house for her family, and this loan will be used to do some finishing touches for her house. Some of the loan will also be used for buying pandanus for her weaving. Katokakala promised herself a long ago that her family's standard of living will be improved through her weaving, and she is living her dream.
