but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to invest in buying beef, chicken, pork, cheese and vegetables.

Carlos Enrique's story

Carlos Enrique is a 50-year-old small business owner. He is a resident of Barranquilla where he lives with his family.
For the last two years his business activity has been selling lunches and fast food.
Since he was very young he learned the business from other colleagues in the trade union, selling prepared foods as a street vendor.
Little by little he expanded his customer-base and specialized in distributing larger quantities in restaurants and hotels in the city centre.
This business activity is his only source of income and it allows him to contribute to the support of his home. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which presented itself at a global level, his level of work decreased for biosecurity reasons and his income diminished considerably. This motivated him to request his first Kiva loan with the Fundación Santo Domingo with the goal of investing in buying beef, chicken, pork, cheese and vegetables.
