Los Emprendedores De Comumpiari Group's story

The communal bank "Los Emprendedores de Comumpiari" is an enterprising and responsible group. There are 17 members, and the leader is Maria, along with the treasurer and secretary. Because of the pandemic, only these three representatives of the group could appear in the photograph.

Maria, age 44, has a little daughter who is her inspiration and motivation for continuing forward. She is a single mother and is always seeking to improve the quality of life of her little family.

She has worked in agriculture for 18 years. She raises cacao and mullein. She also works as a day laborer and harvests on other parcels [of land] in order to generate better income and have it be enough. Sometimes during the season, she harvests coffee and sesame, among other products.

At this time, she is applying through Kiva for a loan to maintain her crops of cacao and mullein. She wants to have better productivity and offer quality products at a fair price to her customers.

In the future, she wants to save for the higher education of her little daughter, and she wants to continue working in agriculture.
