Magnifique's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy another motorcycle and pesticides for spraying crops.

Magnifique's story

Magnifique is 32 years old and lives in the town of Kajjansi in the Abaita Ababiri region of Uganda. She is married and has three children, two of whom are currently in school. For the past eight years, Magnifique has been working hard to manage her agriculture and transportation businesses. She farms cash crops and provides boda (motorcycle taxi) transportation.

To help expand her businesses, Magnifique has requested a loan of 5,000,000 Ugandan Shillings (UGX) from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy another motorcycle, as well as pesticides for spraying the crops. This will help Magnifique to generate greater profits through increased production. She will manage to provide her family with necessities. Magnifique hopes that in the future she will be able to start a wholesale business selling candle wax.

Magnifique is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members like Magnifique who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
