Venesida's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy clothes, blankets, and flashlights to sell at her small retail shop.

Venesida's story

Venesida lives in an urban area that is located four kilometers outside of the city of Port Vila, Vanuatu. Her community is very small and the main industry is food. Being located near the city provides adequate conditions for a person to earn an income. Venesida is 32 years old and her partner works at a local bakery. She has a five-year-old child. Venesida and her family currently live in a house that was supplied by the company that her husband works for.

Venesida is requesting a loan to purchase clothes, blankets, and flashlights to sell at her small retail shop so that she can keep up with the demands from her customers. Her business is located on the island of Malekua where she grew up, which is 162 kilometers away from Port Vila. Her parents are helping to run the business. The profits from the business will be used to begin construction of a home for her family. They have a plot of land that is a 20-minute drive from Port Vila.

Venesida took the initiative to start this business because her home community does not have a place where they can buy these products. She dreams that her business will grow into a large retail shop where she can provide other products to her community. SPBD Vanuatu has been helping Venesida for over a year. This will be her second loan. Her first loan was repaid in full and on time. With her loans, Venesida is inspired to grow and become a successful businesswoman.
