Sandy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped increase our production & add a small warehouse for larger quantities of raw materials.

Sandy's story

I grew up in a big family, so bath time was special. Sometimes it was the only time you would not have someone messing with you. I’ve always had a love for soap making, even as a little girl. But why soap? I would see the scraps of soap laying around in the bathroom, and I know I could make them into “new” soap. One day, I got a jar and started putting the scraps in and adding warm water. As it cooled and aged, it turned into a gel. I loved using my “newly” made soap. My Daddy started a boat repair business and then pivoted his business to own and operate towboats on the Mississippi River. Thanks to him I've had the entrepreneurial spirit from way back and always admired him for stepping out on his own. I've always had a bit of sass and a will to get things done. I rediscovered my passion for making soap when I went to a workshop where they demonstrated how to make soap. I was hooked. I started with one bucket, an old stick blender, a few oils, kinds of butter, lye, and a soap mold. It's been 19 years, growing from one soap mold a few oils and kinds of butter to now 12 molds, drying racks, and many gallons of oils at a time. What I thought would be just selling soaps at fairs and markets has turned into a business helping women see how truly beautiful they are. I love to see the smiles on women's faces when they find just the right scent that helps them to go on to live and love boldly. I'm also proud I can pay it forward by helping others
