Sagrado Corazon Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a lot of corn, firewood, meat and vegetables.

Sagrado Corazon Group's story

Guatemalan round tortillas are very hot like the sun. They are made of baked corn (white, yellow, black) and are handmade by women. Selling tortillas is a source of income for low-income people who want to improve their lives.

35-year-old Eily has had this business since she was 19 years old. Thanks to this business Eily is achieving better living conditions for both herself and her family. She feels privileged to have graduated with a bachelor's degree in science and literature. To generate other income, Eily also sells shoes. She is happy to have a regular clientele. Because the clientele requests food from her, Eily will start this new business. To invest in the business, she has applied for the 2nd KIVA loan. With this capital, she will buy corn, firewood, meat and vegetables.

There are 9 women who form the Banco Comunal de Puente de Amistad "Sagrado Corazon" and have the common goal of leading their families to success. This is accomplished through the good management of their businesses, which range from corn tortilla stores to the sale of food. They receive various monthly trainings on good investment, budgeting, health care and leadership. Access to small loans, training and health care are the premium benefits that Puente de Amistad offers to more than 32,000 clients in the "Microcredit Plus" program.

Thank you Kiva lenders for funding these loans with impact.
