Elizabeth's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase cereals such as maize and beans to sell to her local market at a profit for a better life.

Elizabeth's story

Hello wonderful people of Kiva! Meet Elizabeth, 28, a woman who chose not to complain about life’s ups and downs but to work her way to success. She decided to start farming after realizing that jobs that are available for educated people do not provide livable wages in Kenya. Through farming, she is able to take care of her family. Elizabeth's primary way of earning an income is through dairy and crop farming. Elizabeth sells eggs, food crops, and milk to her neighbors to earn an income. She also has a small business.

Although Elizabeth loves farming, the small profit she has been getting is not enough to save for her children’s education. She has always wanted to start a cereal business in her local market. She is requesting a loan to buy cereals. She intends to buy different varieties of cereals such as lentils, cowpeas, maize, sorghum, rice, wheat, barley, and millet to resell in her local market. In her deep remote village, the cereal business is one of the most profit-generating businesses, since the demand for cereals is always strong.

Because of the good relationships she has with her neighbors, Elizabeth plans to increase her reach through proper marketing in her own village. Lenders can help this mother achieve her dreams with this loan, which will surely bring enormous changes in her life.
