Leontin's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for bag of flour, cooking oil, and sugar in order to produce donuts and increase her income.

Leontin's story

Leontin is a 36-year-old mother of five children, ages 11, 10, 8, 3 and 2. Her partner is a security guard and they all live in a small home unit which is located in an urban suburb 5 minutes drive from Port Vila in Vanuatu. Leontin's community is small and the main industry is food. During this Covid-19 pandemic, locals have been helping each other. So for one to earn income has been very good.

Leontin has requested a loan to pay for a bag of flour, cooking oil, and sugar so she can bake more donuts to increase her income. She wants to make sure she has enough stock to meet her customers demands. She will use her earned revenue to pay for her children's school fees and save up a little so she can purchase a piece of land for her family.

Leontin taught herself to make donuts in 2018 and has been providing her business to her community ever since. Her business has been a major financial help to her family. This is Leontin's third loan with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. Her previous loans were repaid fully and on time. From her loans, Leontin feels empowered to expand her business so she can become a successful entrepreneur.
