Jessenia Janeth's story

Jessenia Janeth is 43 years old. She is divorced. She has three children, all adults and independent. She is a teacher in a public school. They live in their own house. They live in Montecristi, a place where they make a variety of products of toquilla straw, wicker, piquigua [fiber from a tropical rainforest plant], and wood, as well as fine hats from toquilla straw, known to the world as "Panama Hats" and known throughout the country and outside of it.

Jessenia Janeth is a teacher in a school where they pay her monthly for her work. She also has a tanker where she sells potable water in various sectors of the city. She has a driver who works from Monday to Saturday, and she pays him monthly for his work. She also buys and sells fish scraps for the fishmeal factories.

At the beginning [of the pandemic], the social isolation left her without work because of the fear of contagion and various restrictions that kept her from going out to sell. But now she is following the biosecurity protocols.

The loan is to buy water and fish.
