Flor De Maria Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy ingredients, plates, glasses, pots, and pans for preparing food, as well as chicken to raise.

Flor De Maria Group's story

Dulce is a young woman who is 27 years of age and studied for six years. She is a visionary woman who is married and a mother of two children, ages 6 and 12. Dulce makes the most of her energy to generate income so that she can cover her children’s educational expenses. She has a food stall at her house and also makes home deliveries. Dulce begins selling food at 5:00 P.M. She is pleased that she has been successful at managing her home and her business. Dulce is requesting her second Kiva loan to buy ingredients, plates, glasses, pots, and pans so that she can prepare more food. She will also use part of the money to buy chickens so that she can start a new business of raising animals.

The eight women in this group live in the Department of Suchitepéquez. They appreciate the kindness of the Kiva lenders for financing their loans. Most of the women who receive loans, training, and medical care through the Microcredit Plus/Puente de Amistad program have little or no formal education. Through the educational seminars that are provided at their monthly meanings, the women are able to learn and receive the latest information. Some of the training themes have included business, legal rights, health, and family. Education is essential for these women to empower themselves and create better futures!

Thank you for financing these women’s businesses that include food, dairy products, retail stores, and raising animals!
