Suan's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy cassava, fertilizers, and pay for labour.

Suan's story

Suan is a married local woman who lives with her husband in a Khmer community in Surin Province, Northeast Thailand. In general, her family makes a living by cultivating a jasmine rice farm and growing cassava as a secondary occupation.

Suan has sought a loan to invest in cassava cultivation because she and her husband are getting older, and she wants to increase her income and save some money for retirement. She was inspired by her neighbor to grow cassava, and it is capable of providing them with additional income. Then she applied for a Kiva loan in order to purchase cassava, fertilizer, and pay for labor.

The loan will allow her to purchase necessary farm supplies while also supporting local entrepreneurs. Furthermore, she intends to expand her business in order to generate a larger income for her family.
