Financiera Palmeras Group's story

The communal bank group Financiera Palmeras is an enterprising and responsible group. There are 13 members and they are led by Marcos, the president, with the treasurer and the secretary. Due to the pandemic, these three are in the photo.

Marcos, 48 years old, has four children and is married. For over 22 years, he has worked in carpentry. He makes tables, chairs, doors, and other products from wood. His goal is to be able to expand his retail space to serve more people, and to replace his machinery.

Facing this, Marcos asks for a Kiva loan to purchase wood and to continue making his products such as chairs, doors, windows, and more. He wants to continue offering his products to his customers so they are satisfied.

As a second income, he works building houses of wood and metal sheeting, while his spouse supports him in the home. Marcos considers himself to be a hardworking, responsible, and early-rising man with desire to get ahead for his children.
