A loan helped to purchase ingredients in larger quantities to meet the demand of her customers.

Jocelyn's story

Jocelyn is a 22-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her guardian in Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese district in Ghana. She operates a bakery business. With her previous Kiva loan she purchased ingredients in bulk. She used the profit she earned to reinvest into her business.

Jocelyn is now requesting another loan to purchase ingredients in larger quantities to meet the demand of her customers. She plans to use the profit she earns to support her family's daily needs. She will repay the "social interest" on her second loan by volunteering two and half hours per week as a CAMFED Peer Educator, leading life skills sessions for students in local schools on topics such as rights and choices, choosing a career path and active citizenship.
