Sophorn's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to repair her old house.

Sophorn's story

Sophorn is a 39-year-old experienced farmer from the Angkor Borei district of Takeo province. She lives with her spouse and children, who completely depend on her income and attend school. She is engaged in growing rice and raising some poultry at home to cover her family's needs. She has knowledge in growing rice, such as land preparation, cultivation and growth of rice, and about fertilizers, diseases of rice, and other agriculture tasks. Sophorn and her husband help each other earn household income so that they can provide food, medicines, education, and basic living needs.

Currently Sophorn's house is lacking and she has requested a loan in the amount of 4,000,000 Cambodian riels to repair her old house. With this funding support, she can purchase construction supplies, such as brick, cement and zinc, and pay for labor costs. The advantage of a new roof is to help protect when it rains, storm protection, to provide clean ceilings for comfort in living, and waterproofing.

Thanks to the Kiva lenders for their role in the comprehensive development of women like her who want to reduce poverty for their families. Her profits enable her to increase her savings and take care of her needs and those of her children.
