Stellah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase modern farm inputs, such as certified seeds and organic fertilizers, to improve the quality of her crops.

Stellah's story

Stellah is a hardworking woman who is 29 years old. Before the moon disappears and gives way to the scorching Eldoret sun, Stellah wakes up to start her day and prepare her family. Once everything is settled, she gathers her farm implements so that she can begin her agricultural duties, which is her daily routine. Stellah is determined to give her family a quality life. She is a smallholder farmer from Eldoret, a rural and poor village. Stellah started farming out of economic necessity. She owns a small parcel of land where she practices maize and vegetable farming and raises dairy animals.

One objective that Juhudi Kilimo aims to fulfill is to make access to farm inputs and income-generating assets easier for farmers. With the intervention of Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva, fertilizer, seeds, and other important farm inputs have become more accessible.

Stellah is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs, such as certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizer. This loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. This intervention will help her fill the increasing demand for food in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt and improve the quality of life for her family.
