A loan helped to buy new tutua and ike for her tapa making business.

Linda's story

This is Linda. She is married with six grown-ups. Linda runs a knitting and tapa-making business, where she conducts her knitting at her own available time, while spending most of her time in her tapa-making business. She is in need of new equipment such as tutua (wooden anvil) and ike (wooden mallets), for her old ones started to be worn out and it can damage her soft tapas (patterned cloth made from the bark of the mulberry tree). Tutua and ike are used in softening the hard mulberry, turning it into soft tapas.

She is a member in a tapa-making group of women in their church, where they perform the making of tapas only on Fridays of every week. She also has expertise in designing tapas, and it brings in extra income for her family. Currently they live in an old house, and it is her dream to build a bigger and better new house for her family.
