A loan helped to buy a buffalo.

Noong Luong 44 Group's story

Mrs. Dung is nearly 33 and married. She has two children who are attending school. Her family lives in a remote village of Dien Bien province, a mountainous province in the northwest border of Vietnam. In the photo, she’s on the far right.

Like other villagers, Dung and her husband are farmers. They make their living by raising rice and vegetables, as well raising chickens and ducks to sell. Despite working hard, the income from agriculture is not stable, so Dung's family life is still difficult.

Difficulty doesn’t make her feel tired, it makes she stronger. She has decided to buy a new buffalo to raise and sell later. Dung has about 5 years of experience and will use the available food in the farm such as rice, grass and straw for the buffalo to reduce the cost.

The main hardship is lack of capital. That's why she decided to borrow a loan from the Anh Chi Em program to buy a buffalo. This is her eighth time borrowing with the Anh Chi Em program, after successfully repaying 7 loans.

She hopes that her investment will do well and makes enough money to send her two children to school. She wishes for her children to have bright futures!
