Hannah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as fertilizers and seeds to improve her horticulture crop production.

Hannah's story

Hannah, 32, believes that life’s ups and downs should not be viewed as the end, but as an opportunity to learn to improve in life. Hannah is one progressive woman who, despite being faced with the serious misfortune of not attending college, refused to give up. Hannah lives in the Kerugoya area of Kenya.

The biggest constraint to Hannah’s success is the use of poor-quality fertilizers and lack of certified seeds. Hannah is seeking this loan to buy farm inputs such as certified seeds and high-nutrient fertilizers. This loan will enable her to improve her horticulture crop production through use of quality farm inputs.

This intervention will help her fill the increasing demand for food in the market, and in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt and elevate the quality of life for her family.

Juhudi Kilimo has partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers in Kerugoya now can buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms.
