Sylvie's story

Sylvie Marie Francois is a 62-year-old mother of four grown-up children. She is happily married. Her husband is retired from the French embassy in Vanuatu. Sylvie Marie Francois lives with her family in her own home, which is located 2.5 kilometres away from Port Vila, city of Vanuatu. Her community is small, and the main industry there is food. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been quite all right for one to make income.

Sylvie Marie Francois has requested a loan to help her purchase a deep freezer as an additional business from which to earn income. She will also pay for a box of ice cream to stock up her freezer to better provide for her customers.

Sylvie Marie Francois has a baking business, which has been her main income for over two years now. With her earned revenue, she will build a food stall so she can sell her baked products and ice cream to locals and visitors who pass by.

This is Sylvie Marie Francois's third loan with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. She has been faithful in her previous loan repayments in a timely manner. Through her loans, Sylvie Marie Francois feels empowered to expand her business so she can become a bigger, better businesswoman.
