A loan helped a Black woman-owned business elevate a community space.
I am a proud Milwaukee native who was raised in a large family that always shared the importance of community. I was very fortunate to be allowed to march to the beat of my own drum so I choose careers that appealed to my creative interests. I knew that I wanted to be an entrepreneur, but I wanted to take my time and receive as much experience as possible before starting my venture. Over the years, I've held professional titles in law enforcement, education, hospitality, and human resources to teach me how to run a business from every aspect. I wanted my business to embody everything that I loved to do, but have a unique community appeal since I was used to being around people. I never gave up my hobbies of writing, podcasting, and creating content and was reminded that one of my stumbling blocks was having an adequate space in which to do any of the things I loved. As a proponent of servant leadership, I decided that blending creativity and community can work well in a space fit for other writers, podcast hosts, and content creators right here in my city. I feel grateful that I can potentially help people create their next big idea or fulfill their dreams. My goal was to create a community-based platform for others right here in the Milwaukee community so by creating a community beauty space I am not only blending all of my passions, but I am lifting others up as well.
