Sharon's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase farm inputs such as certified seeds and organic fertilizers in order to improve the quality of her output and make profits.

Sharon's story

Sharon is a 40-year-old lady who is her own cheerleader. She is married and a mother to three school-going children. They live together as a family in Eldama Ravine. She has been practicing farming for ten years now and she enjoys the income she is getting.

Access to modern-quality farm inputs is the pillar of agricultural success. However, in Kenya, a developing country, fertilizer and seed allocation by the government is way below the needs of farmers. Since Juhudi Kilimo, which is in partnership with Kiva, ventured into the affairs of smallholder farmers in Kenya, farmers can attest that there has been a significant improvement in input availability.

Sharon is requesting a loan to buy farm inputs, such as certified seed and fertilizers, to improve her crop production and eventually improve her living conditions. This intervention will help her meet the increasing demand for food in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt. It will improve her family's quality of life and pay for her children's education. She hopes to improve the conditions of her household.

This hardworking mother would certainly appreciate your support.
