Korn's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to dig a pond.

Korn's story

At age 41, Korn is a brave person and highly respected in her local area. She has worked as a farmer with her spouse for more than five years. Agriculture is the main source of her family income.

To make the soil fertile and high-yield for all types of agricultural crops, the first thing Korn must do is to properly prepare her fields. It is also important to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and switch to natural fertilizers instead, because chemical fertilizers are only effective in the short term and can make the soil sticky. Water evaporates and the soil quality gradually deteriorates if farmers use it excessively.

Due to insufficient finances, Korn has applied for a loan in the amount of 8,000,000 Cambodian riels (KHR) to dig a pond. Farming that expects rainfall, or so-called "sky farming," is not conducive to Korn, whose farmland is far from the irrigation system, which will not be able to supply enough water to the crops. In dug ponds, Korn can raise fish, thus reducing household expenses, and have enough water for daily living activities. Her profits will enable her to increase her savings and take care of her needs and those of her children.

She sends her thanks to all lenders for helping her family.
