A loan helped to dig a pond.

Sokha's story

Sokha, age 33, lives with her family in the area of Bakan district, Pursat province. She earns a living by working as a seller, operating a small convenience shop offering many types of products, including grocery items, snack foods, sweets, powders, canned food, noodles, and miscellaneous household things, to local people in her community.

Her husband is working as a farmer, growing and planting rice, in a way that can improve soil quality, does not harm the environment, is easy to find, local, costs less, and makes rice have good quality and taste. Due to the insufficiency of her finances, Sokha has applied for a loan in of KHR 8,000,000 to dig a pond. Farming that expects rainfall, or so-called sky farming, is not conducive to Sokha, whose farmland is far from that irrigation system, which will not be able to supply enough water to the crops.

Sokha can raise fish in dug ponds, reduce household expenses and have enough water for daily living activities. Her profits enable her to increase her savings and take care of her needs and those of her children. She sends her thanks to all lenders for helping her family.
