Mujeres Alegres Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy seasonal clothing to sell.

Mujeres Alegres Group's story

This communal bank is called Mujeres Alegres (Cheerful Women). It was formed from the union of friends and neighbors of the city of Encarnación, and all of them fight for a better quality of life for their loved ones, and to provide everything that they need. They have the goal of improving themselves and give better living conditions to the ones close to them.

One of the members is Maria, who is married and a mother of 3 children. She and her husband make an effort for their kids, so that they can have a decent future without needs or deprivations. She has worked selling clothing and handicrafts that she has done for several years. She mentions that her main wish is to continue improving and thus keep helping with the household incomes.

She is requesting this loan to buy seasonal wear, and thus stock her business and continue with her sales as she has done so far.

Note: there is only one person in the picture but this is a group loan. It was not possible to take the group photo due to crowding and COVID-19.
