Talea's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped grow my brand and purchase the necessary equipment and inventory needed to expand my business.

Talea's story

I design and create earrings and source new and retro-inspired clothing for my boutique. Born and raised in Oklahoma City. Starting at an early age, I remember always styling my clothes, dolls, drawing outfits, and making bracelets. I even received my first sewing machine at 9 years old. To this day I realized I love being creative and being able to share my art and styles with others. I graduated college with a Bachelor in Science. I'm a full-time elementary teacher and an entrepreneur. Since the beginning of Opp Att Boutique in June 2020, I have worked on finding my crowd, saving and reinvesting my earnings, learning by experience and research from other boutique owners. I started with making a variety of jewelry, knotted turbans, and baby accessories. Soon, I discovered clay jewelry. From there, I added a collection of new and recycled clothes. In the 1 year and 2 months that I've been operating, I can finally see my brand and style coming to life all with the support of my customers. Since the beginning of Opp Att, I have inspirations to learn more about fashion and design. Now, that I'm able to connect the dots, I've concluded this is my passion. Styling, designing/creating, and owning a storefront. I am proud to support local second-hand clothing stores and being a part of my community of local businesses. I look forward to giving back to my community by hosting jewelry-making classes for children and adults and donating clothes and accessories to local organizations in my community: Our Sisters Closet OKC and Dress for Success.
