Rose's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase modern tools and inputs such as certified seeds and organic fertilizers in order to improve the quality of her output.

Rose's story

In Kenya, agriculture is the backbone of the economy and a pillar that, when not well looked after and invested in well, the people can starve to death. However, over the years, the government has not been able to invest well into it through supplying modern farm inputs to the people and agricultural trainings. The majority of the farmers have been using indigenous knowledge and traditional tools and inputs in their farms. Women like Rose work hard every day to optimize the limited resources in their possession. Farming is at the center of her heart.

Her family's main income source is milk from their dairy farm, but she is also involved in other agricultural activities, such as growing maize, vegetables, fruits, and grains.

With this loan, Rose plans to buy farm implements to aid her in her work. The current tools and equipment she is using are worn out due to continuous use. She is confident that she will be able to increase her output, and she will sell her produce to neighbors and to the local market. Her village has a high demand for food crops, but the biggest problem is that the supply is low. Through the loan, she will be able to help meet the demand.

The training she got from Juhudi Kilimo enabled Rose to learn that she could save and take a loan. This loan will go a long way in changing the life of Rose and her family.
