Roda's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to gain access to cost-efficient hybrid seeds and organic fertilizer for crop cultivation.

Roda's story

Roda is a 43-year-old smallholder farmer. She is a wise farmer whose neighbors and fellow farmers respect as a mentor. Roda farms a small plot of land in the green, lush hills near Eldoret, in the Rift valley region of Kenya.

Like many other farmers in the region, Roda has been planting maize as a staple crop for as long as she can remember. Over time, the fertility of her land has started to dwindle, and when she plants maize, the yield goes down with each season. Roda’s farm has also been affected by weeds.

In the modern world, agriculture has become exceedingly dynamic, requiring improved farming inputs for effective production.

Roda is requesting a loan from Kiva lenders via Juhudi Kilimo to buy farm inputs such as hybrid seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizer to improve her farm's output. With this loan, Roda is going to increase her crop production, which will translate into an improved income.

This loan will change Roda's living standard, and there is no doubt that, if you lend to her, this month of 2021 will be great for her.
