Kelly's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay to transport her perishable farm produce to the market so that it reaches the market while still fresh.

Kelly's story

Kelly is a 30-year-old mother of three school-going children who lives in Meru. This is a place where every Kiva lender would like to be to enjoy the beautiful climate whie observing the Great Mount Kenya and other staggering hills in the region. She is a mixed crop farmer.

Juhudi Kilimo’s partnership with Kiva is an effective tool for reducing poverty in Kenya, especially among women, being the central actors in the rural areas.

Kelly is seeking this loan to pay to transport her perishable farm produce from her farm to the market. Through the loan, her products will reach the market when they are still fresh and hence fetch a high price. Supporting her with a loan will be key in her facing the financial crisis that has been brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
