Rosas Del Centro Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy new designs of clothing and shoes.

Rosas Del Centro Group's story

For 22-year-old Sandra, it is very important for the woman to participate in the household economics since it contributes to building a better future for her family. She is a married woman and the mother of two children ages 4 and 7. The older one is in third grade in school. Even though Sandra didn't go to school, she works in a bookshop and as a cook.

Ten years ago, she started a business selling shoes and clothing. Sandra's husband is in charge of managing the business. She feels very happy because little by little it is achieving success. In order to continue with the sales, Sandra needs more innovative products. She is requesting her first Kiva loan to buy new designs of clothing and shoes.

There are 8 K’iche’ Mayan women in the group who live in a rural area in the department of Totonicapán. The businesses of the women range from the raising of animals (chickens, pigs) to the sale of clothing and food. They obtain new knowledge during monthly trainings when they are taught about important topics for their lives and businesses. Some themes include business, nutrition, preventative healthcare, hygiene, and prioritizing expenses. Every two months, the women have access to basic health care services. This is the plus that "Puente de Amistad" offers to the women for their empowerment in the "Microcredito Plus" program (small loans, training, and health).

Thanks, lenders of Kiva, for providing a helping hand and financing these women!
